Caught by Elle

This picture is from last week's Jimmy Choo for H&M VIP night, the Elle girls caught us right when we got in (hence my goofy face). I'm wearing almost all new purchases from Berlin, and this time my outfit was heavily YSL inspired (I can't help it, every time I look at the gray peg leg pants, all I can see is the fab YSL fall 08 RTW collection).

To completely honest, I wasn't too keen on the shoes of the Choo collection (most of them looked cheaply made and were too blingy for my taste) but what I was actually hunting for were the accessories. I really couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how nuts people went over the designs, girls can be so brutal to one another! Luckily nobody was fighting over my picks, so I got out without any bruises or further damage. I ended up coming home with the double wrap leather belt and a few toned down bracelets, including the ones we got in the goodiebags (I got everything I was hunting for). The best part of the night was meeting up with the other style bloggers that were invited to this event, we had a blast!

A huge thank you for Satu and Jenni at Elle for the picture, more pictures of the stylish guests can be found here.

Glass Candy, part 1

I figured that the secret of bringing the summerish cycling shorts to the freezing cold temperatures of Finland, is wearing tights and warm enough boots with them. Now that I look back at these outfit pictures, without actually even realizing it, my outfit for the Glass Candy gig was quite Alexander Wang inspired all the way down with the dress, cycling shorts, boots and the hat. I guess when a good collection is stuck in your head, it stays there like glue.

Lately shoulder pads have been making a huge return into my closet, and this moderately padded dress is one of the scores I made in Berlin last week (Berlin posts still to come, I promise, just need to go over like 300 photographs!). The Ann Demeulemeester boots are also something new, though second hand; I made such a steal with those in Berlin as well. Man, I love that city (I'm actually booking tickets to go back for New Years with bunch of friends). The bag and the bracelet are also from there.

Laura was looking fab as usual, and isn't hear feather thingy so gorgeous? I have so many pictures of the oh-so-fun night that I have to make two separate posts, so more about Glass Candy a bit later. Toodles for now, folks!

Everyday is a Halloween

Last night we celebrated the spookiest night of the year with good company, a Jack O Lantern, pumpkin pie and some red wine. We also ended up checking out the the local gothic club, figuring it was one of the only costume parties going on with music that would fit the mood perfectly. Such a fun night it was, too! Thank you my friends.

I did the classic trick and became a vampire vamp for the night, as I've always had a thing for those sexy beasts. It's no wonder I'm a total sucker for True Blood and anything vampire related. Tonight I will probably finally watch the Vampire Diaries (I always see the advertisements during Gossip Girl), especially when after realizing my boy Ian Somerhalder is part of the cast.

P.S., if someone wants to get a great set of vampire teeth, I can recommend these fellas, they have to be the best vampire teeth makers out there!
Unfortunately they don't ship abroad but not to worry, I got my Sexy Bites via eBay.

P.P.S. Berlin is calling next week! Any tips?

Happy Halloween everyone!

This is our decision, to live fast or die young, we got the vision, now let's have some fun!

As promised, here are some more pictures from the past weekend. These are all from Saturday's craziness, I can't recall the last time when I've had such a random and fun night in this city. We ended up seeing the New Wine and the Finnish electro legend Op:l Bastards at MOP, who also hung out with us at the backstage for a bit. In the end it was just our gang invading the space, eating their leftover sandwhiches and sodas. We also ended up to the strangest after party with DJ decks and spin the bottle (don't ask me how and what went on after that).

I wore my newest purchase, the Rick Owens DRKSHDW tunic dress which is so comfortable and well tailored that I literally want to live in it from now on. Essi was looking fabulous as always, and we just had to take some mutual shots to show how we almost have the same profile! She really feels like the little sister that I never had, that's how similar we are in so many ways.

Going with the Flow

I'm back from Flow festival but so dead beat that my sleep deprived body is saying I should switch off my computer, and get some sleep instead of blogging. Even so, I want to share some pictures from Saturday.

Immediately after getting inside the festival area, I saw a familiar face smiling at me, and recognized it to be the ever-so-stylish Essi from the Fashion Overdose. I asked her to join us and soon we really hit it off, talking about music, fashion, Berlin, and of course, blogging. Doesn't she look so cute?

My own outfit for the evening was compiled by taking the weather changes into consideration, and adding some Robert Smith into the mix. The brand new white Docs actually served me extremely well during the evening, though my calves were hurting just a wee a bit this morning (nothing untolerable, for those of you who were asking). I'd give them a few more walks, and they should be just fine.

As for the bands, we ended up seeing Vivian Girls, White Lies, Grace Jones, Juan McLean and my personal favorite of them all, Handsome Furs. I don't think I've ever seen as energetic show as this stylish Canadian couple put together at Flow. I completely fell in love with Alexei's fringey knit dress, anyone know who it's by?

I also met up with the absolutely fabulous Stella before the festival, and enjoyed some drinks and good company at her place pre-Flow. We also had some business taken care of but more about that later. Now I need to go to sleep...

P.S. My blog's birthday competition is now closed, I will announce the winner tomorrow!

Weekend madness

You know those weekends that are so full of action that it feels like you don't even have time to take a breath? Well, last weekend felt like that for me but in a good sense, of course. On Friday I hosted a little get-together for my friends and the beautiful Nadja from Are You Feeling Fashionable? came to join the party. We also paid a visit to the local indie club and met up with the ever-so-stylish Sugar Kane on the dance floor. (Friday's outfit pics to come on the next post!)

On Saturday, all tired from the previous night's festivities, Nadja and I headed to a park picnic organized by some Finnish bloggers. The sun was shining, the birds were singing (or rather these caged roosters were cock-a-doodle-dooing) and about 15 stylish bloggers came together for a little meet and greet. I forgot to bring my camera but luckily the talented Maria was working as the official paparazzi, and took a few close ups of me with her pro camera.

My boyfriend also perpetuated my outfit and Nadja's before we walked her to the train station in the evening. Hope you guys had a great weekend; I know I did!

Cover me

Last night Deerhunter was playing at Tavastia in Helsinki and I went to see it with my boyfriend, Ranna and her boyfriend. The show was really good and the singer Bradfod Cox really has a talent in stand up comedy with his strangely funny in-between comments and manoeuvres. In the end the band let audience members play the instruments while the the band was beating the hell out of the drum set. A good show indeed, I recommend checking them out!

I wanted to wear something suitable for an indie rock gig, so I went with all black and a drapy "oat meal" colored cardigan that a colleague of mine has ordered from All Saints but didn't want to keep for some reason. She must be crazy because this is the most comfortable cottony thing ever! I was so glad that it fit me and it's precisely my style, too. Hey, a new color addition to my wardrobe!

Bathroom shots are a must!
