Caught by Elle

This picture is from last week's Jimmy Choo for H&M VIP night, the Elle girls caught us right when we got in (hence my goofy face). I'm wearing almost all new purchases from Berlin, and this time my outfit was heavily YSL inspired (I can't help it, every time I look at the gray peg leg pants, all I can see is the fab YSL fall 08 RTW collection).

To completely honest, I wasn't too keen on the shoes of the Choo collection (most of them looked cheaply made and were too blingy for my taste) but what I was actually hunting for were the accessories. I really couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how nuts people went over the designs, girls can be so brutal to one another! Luckily nobody was fighting over my picks, so I got out without any bruises or further damage. I ended up coming home with the double wrap leather belt and a few toned down bracelets, including the ones we got in the goodiebags (I got everything I was hunting for). The best part of the night was meeting up with the other style bloggers that were invited to this event, we had a blast!

A huge thank you for Satu and Jenni at Elle for the picture, more pictures of the stylish guests can be found here.

Dressed in black

A few weeks ago the Finnish Elle approached me, and asked if my boyfriend and I could participate in a piece about couples sharing a similar style. Along with two other couples, we said yes, and finally today the magazine hit the stores. As for the photos, we had to choose a party and an everyday outfit for the photo shoot, plus pick one of our favorite items.

The whole situation was actually quite funny because we had both decided our outfits separately without consolidating each other, yet we ended up in very similar gear. I guess when you have been together with someone for such a long time, intentionally or unintentionally, you start to resemble each other, more or less.

We missed you hissed the lovecats

Today while I was reading the new Elle spring collections magazine I had a little assistant with me, my aunts cat. This is my favorite catwalk collections magazine due to it's decent price; I don't think I could ever afford buying those crazy 100 page fashion bibles that cost a fortune. The lack of Balmain's and Givenchy's presence was a surprise since the whole blogosphere, including myself, has been crazy about their spring collections. Anyway, the most interesting surprise was on page 71, where a familiar face popped up among the A-list street style queens.

My favourite thing to do in the summer

When the meter hits +26 Celcius, the city is not the best place to be. So I decided to cool off on Sunday and Monday at my parent's place in the "country side" (about 6km off the center of Tampere). We had a small barbecue and just shook off the tiredness of the weekend's heavy partying.

My absolute favourite thing of all summer is to lay in the sun and read magazines or a good book. As I love looking at catwalk books and they usually cost a fortune, I bought the Elle collections which is a good package for its price. I also bought the YSL collections of 1957-2002 magazine/book since past decades fashion pictures are really hard to find. I warmly recomend this to anyone interested in vintage clothing. For all you denim addicts, check out this month's WAD.

As for my work outfit I wore the H&M Trend puffy skirt with a houndstooth sleeveless turtleneck; a shirt that I, don't know why, have not worn in a long time.

Shirt: Cheap Monday
Skirt: H&M Trend
Shoes: Björn Borg

I also popped at the local Salvation Army and I made amazing finds! Some have to be modified a little but some are just great as they are. This Salvation Army is a true gem, not so many people know about it, so the best items are still hanging on the racks. I will show my findings later.

Tomorrow I'm heading to Stockholm to do some shopping and meet my relatives, so I will be back with new clothes next week. See you then!
