Make it work

Even though my work place (an office) doesn't have a tight dress code, I still feel that there is a "work me" compared to the "normal me". My strategy with all the jobs I've had has always been to go formal first and bit by bit start bringing more "me" into the work outfits. It has taken about a year that I have had the courage to start wearing what I wear now at work; I still have to restrain my inner rock chick to stay at home. Even today I felt somewhat of a burn in my back while wearing this blazer, jeans and platform booties combo. It's funny because my boyfriend said the outfit reminds him of a teacher which is actually not too far fetched; my mother, who is a teacher, used to wear a very similar grey blazer back in the 80's/90's. So what's all the fuss about?

Blazer: MTWTFSS
Shirt: Marlene Schön by Ellos
Jeans: Cheap Monday

Platform booties: Bullboxer

Who cares they're always changing corporation names,
We just want to dance here, someone stole the stage,
They call us irresponsible, write us off the page"

Being able to incorporate "yourself" into work outfits is great. It is a great office outfit, especially the blazer that stands out.

i think it works, it has the 'you' element and the work look. and the 2nd picture make you look really tall! nice shot

I think your outfit is non-traditional but not very radical. A nice place to be.

It's funny how people looking at you can mean that you look weird or fabulous! I just prefer to think it's the latter.

Frickys: Thanks! Definitely! Although it's hard if there is a tight dress code. On the other hand, it might make it more interesting, ie. what you can do with limited resources and styles. :) I'm lucky my work place is not that "tight" but still I feel like the odd one out..

Clareassiral: Thanks, I'm glad you can see me in the work look. Wow, yeah it does, weird! :D Great angle, I suppose. :)

Mrs. Allnut: No problem!:) I'm glad to inspire you.

Heidi and seek: Thank you. I really do hope it's the latter. ;)

Winda: Kiitti! :)

Mitä sää teet työkses:)?Ihana blazeri<3 Ja joo, miulla on ihan sama-en voi pitää töissä sellasia vaatteita, mitä vapaalla:/ Se on toisinaan vähän kökköä,mutta sitten taas-ainakin inspis pukeutumiseen säilyy, kun sitä joutuu rajoittamaan! Onneksi olen 3 pvää vkosta töissä ja 4:nä voin sitten laittaa päälleni vaikka jätesäkin;)

I love that outfit, but it doesn't really remind me of a teacher :D Maybe that's because all the teachers in our school are such a... well, I can't say it in English, so I'll go with Finnish - juntteja :D Btw I also love ur apartment.

Heini: Olen johdon assistentti eräässä tunnetussa suomalaisessa firmassa. Mulla taas tuo vapaampi pukeutuminen rajoittuu lähes täysin viikonloppuun ja lomille mikä sinänsä on harmi. Olis kiva päästä "ulkoilemaan" vähän useamminkin. Mut viikonloppuisin sitä revitellään yleensä oikein olan takaa pukeutumisen suhteen. :)

Sara: Thank you! :) Perhaps in the 80's teachers were younger and cooler, dunno. :D I just remembered how old I am, yikes!

Sugar Kane: Good to know. :) So if I understood your comment right, I do have at least a bit of professionalism in my work look. Cool!

Anonymous: Oikea biisi!

You look really pretty! The portrait a few posts ago was really beautiful.

Also, the blazer is great! Very Alex Wang. I've actually been the whole week in Norssi, studying the high-school pupils' behaviour. But I'm more like this high waist skirt, high heels kind of teacher.
I feel I haven't seen you in ages!

Laural: Ahh thanks, sweetie!:) Your school week sounds interesting and I'm sure you're the hottest "teacher" there. ;) I was in Klubi last Saturday but didn't see you. Yo-talo next week, yes? :)

Nelliina: Kiitos.

Song of style: Thanks! Yep. :) I love retro decor style, so my whole apartment is pretty much all 60's 70's retro.
