Barbie girl

Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to organize costume parties; there is just something intriguing about becoming a totally different character, even if it's just for a day. Last night one of my long time costume party ideas came to reality, when we celebrated my birthday with a Barbie & Ken theme. Unfortunately I don't have too much material of my fabulous guests' outfits (and they would probably kill me if I published anything) but at least you can see my dress that I've been saving for ages, the decorations, and the amazing Barbie cake made by Laura's big sister from the Jauhot Suussa blog.

After Sing Staring and being stuffed from all the party food, we headed to Hang the Dj club which was also celebrating it's birthday. I was particularly happy when they played Prince's Raspberry Beret from request but naturally the birthday girl should get her wish, right?

I want to thank all my guests for showing up, you all looked so lovely! Next time we are dressing up for Halloween, oh yes yes yes!

Dress: Second hand

That is one cake I'll say! Wow. Nice outfit too! Are you thinking about wearing it on non-barbie occasions as well?

Olen todella, todella vaikuttunut!

Fantastic!!! The cake must have been extremely yummy! :) Those dollies, are those from your childhood? Love the piano with Magic Moves barbie. And your outfit: very barbie from the 80's but still you. Good job! :)

Hei, ihana tuo sun pukus, voisin kyllä itsekin käyttää. Samoin kengät ja kakku oli söpö. Saitko synttäritervehdykseni?

Girl with one eye: Heh, thank you!:)

Antonio Barros: Thanks! I'm happy to hear that and welcome again. :)

Joan D: Thanks! I would like to wear those gloves more often. :)

Stellagee: Thanks!:) Yeah, I was Barbie's glamourous friend, Theresa. ;) I guess the purple color brings out my complexion and green eyes heheh.

Domennie: Thank you!:) I've been saving this dress for almost a year now, I just knew it would be perfect for this party. I was a huge Barbie fan myself back in the day. ;)

Kamicha: I know, I couldn't believe how great it turned out!:)

Jenni: Yeah it is! And so tasty too heh. I don't know if I will wear this dress again, it's not really my thing. Perhaps I will end up selling it or wearing it one more time to some 80's party. ;)

Tuuli: Kiitti! Iso kiitos siis Jauhot Suussa Jonnalle ja Drop the Phonen Lauralle upeasta kakusta!:)

Sophie: Thanks! I know the cake is so fab and tasty, too. ;)

June Paski: Thanks! It's really 80's heh. I might end up selling it, so stay tuned!;)

Essi: Otetaan vahinko takas sitten Halloween-pippaloissa! Kiitos kovasti. :) Olisit ollut varmasti upea Theresa-junior.;)

Juliet: Eiks ookkin!? Ihan uskomaton! :)

Georgia: Me too, actually I love all costume parties. ;) Thanks, that's what I was going for. ;)

Frickys: Thanks! Yeah, actually I was the glamorous fashion Theresa (Barbie's brunette friend). ;)

NinaV: Thank you!:) The cake was really yummy with strawberry and Daim chocolate filling and blueberry on top. :) Yep, those dollies, the piano and the scooter are all from my childhood. You actually recognized the Magic Moves Barbie, yay! That one I got from the States from my mom's friends. :)

Dylana: Thank you!:)

The gorgeous: Thanks! Awwwss.. that sucks, sorry. Perhaps you can buy one now, I know a lot of adults collect them. :)

NinaV: I know hahahhaha. He slicked his hair back, wore black tuxedo jeans, white shirt and black a blazer. Then he topped the outfit off with a dark blue bow tie and a black cumber band which is actually quite Ken-ish. ;) But yeah, he was a rock'in Ken!:)

Oh my, so s w e e t !!!

Adorable pastel post! And delayed congratz!!!

That cake reminds me of my own eighties birthdays, when my mum used to make me Barbie- cakes like that, but the dress was made of pink cream <3

Minulla on ihan höpsö kysymys, mutta haluaisin tietää millä meikeillä/miten teet kulma(karvasi)? Näyttää jotenkin niin kivan tasaiselta jäljeltä aina kuvissa ja mietin vaan että saako tuollaista jälkeä tehtyä tavallisilla kulmakynillä (itse en ainakaan saa... varmaan minussa se vika. haha)

Jalouse: Thank you! I never had a Barbie cake when I was little even though I wanted to, so now I finally got what I wanted all these years heheh. I especially asked a purple dress from the cake maker, so that it would match with my outfit. When I was little, I think a pink cream topping would have been a dream come true.

Christina: Ooh, thank you. :) I got these gloves last year for our company's xmas party, it's great that I could use them again. :)

Agatiszka: Yeah, it was a great find. ;) I wanna see yours now!

Malu: Thank you and that's so nice to hear!:)

Sushi: Thanks, me too! A Vespa would be nice!:)

Veronicann: Thanks! I would have been freezing without the gloves. :D

Janina: Me too! Can't wait for Halloween this weekend! Thanks, I will keep my hair long from now on. ;)

Rachell: Oi kiitos, samoin!:)
