My new boyfriend (jeans)
Guess what the postman brought me on Tuesday? Yup, the famous Levi's 501 boyfriend jeans. I almost couldn't believe my luck when I read that I had won these from the stylish Stella's blog competition awhile back, and now they are actually mine (alongside with Cat Power's latest, yay!).
Wearing Levi's 501s again after so many years is certainly a trip down the memory lane; these used to be pretty much my uniform in elementary school and throughout junior high school as well. They are so comfy and relaxed; it feels very liberating to wear something like this after a long period of skinny jeans. It's no wonder I've been wearing this every single day since I got them, even last night when we went out dancing.

Oh!Tulipa niin nostalginen olo tästä Levi's postauksesta. Nuorena sitä säästeltiin viikkorahoja farkkuihin ja vertailtiin kavereiden kanssa, että kuinka monet housuparit kukin omisti. Oi niitä aikoja!
Ostin muuten kesällä Manchesterissa käydessäni vintagekaupasta parit miesten vanhat levikset - ja totta puhut, miellyttäviltä ne tuntuu jalassa farkkuleggareiden jälkeenkin;)
Oh my! I had The Jeans in excactly same colour in 1990, so almost 20 years ago! And I remember they had to be extremely loose: my normal size back then was 26/32 and my light blue Levis 501 were size 33/34!!! Good lord... :)

Tosi kiva asu. Onneksi olkoon : tavoittelin itsekin voittoa kisassa kun tekisi niin mieli uusia farkkuja, juuri tällaisia - paitsi haluaisin ne hiukan sinisempinä, ehkä. Bleiserisi on hieno ! Ihana nähdä ylläsi jotain vaaleaakin, välillä !
hih, noissa 501:ssähän näyttää etikettikin olevan se sama kuin teinivuosina. silloin pienen maalaistytön piti käydä suuria ovenpaiskomiskeskusteluja siitä, miksi monen satasen farkut olivat paremmat kuin seppälän ragazzit :D
mutta tänä päivänä ja tällä vuosituhannella sun asu näyttää vähäeleisen upealta.

Cherry pie: Juu samaa mekin tehtiin. :) Lähes kaikki ala-asteen ja yläasteen asut perustui aina Leviksiin. :) Nuo on kyllä niin ihanan rennot, että mieli tekee käyttää koko ajan. :)
NinaV: Oh yes! Actually I tried on some Levi's jeans at the local second hand store but I could barely fit size 30, I would be closer to size 32-33 in the old ones. From these I got size 27, I think even size 26 would have fit me but I want them to look a bit more relaxed. :)

Sugar Kane: Thanks! Now that I'm about 10-15 kilos heavier than in elementary school and my body is not so boyish anymore, I'm extremely surprised these fit me so well. ;)
Cafe noir: Pitkästä aikaa!:) Olin niin yllättynyt ja iloinen, kun kuulin voittaneeni kisassa. Nythän Stellalla oli taas uusi arvonta. Kyseiseltä neidiltä löytyy samaiset farkut hieman sinisempinä, mutta olen itse erittäin tyytyväinen, että postista putkahti tämä oi niin ysärit vaaleat versiot. Tälläisiä olen juuri havitellut. Ja totta tosiaan, kerrankin mun vaatekaapissa on jotain hieman vaaleampaa puuteriroosien lisäksi. ;) Kiitos kovasti, bleizeri on itseasiassa miehekkeen, mutta pöllin sen(kin) itselleni. Oikein boyfriend blazer ja jeans, siis. :D
Tiiti: Kyllä vaan! Oi mitkä nostalgiat noista saakaan aikaiseksi... Ihan samanmoisia tappeluita on käyty meidänkin perheessä: kaikilla kavereillakin oli Leviksit, joten minäkin tahdoin sellaiset (hieman Leevin sanoja vääristellen), hinnalla millä hyvänsä. Käytin mm. yksiä vaalean vihreitä versioita niin kovasti, että lopulta ne menivät polvista puhki ihan itsellään. Kiitos kovasti kauniista sanoista. :)

I actually have a pair of light blue Levis 501s somewhere, but I think they are too small for me nowadays! These pictures really inspires me to search for them though.

Lobelia: I noticed that the sizing is totally different with the old 501s. In this new boyfriend version I fit my regular size but with the older ones I would have to size up for sure. Hopefully you can find yours and that they still fit! :)
